Muskoka, Parry Sound Ladies Bonspiel
The first annual Ladies Muskoka District Bonspiel was held in 1953 in Gravenhurst, hosting 24 teams, from Gravenhurst, Bracebridge, Huntsville, Parry Sound, Bala, and Port Carling at an entry fee of $5.00. Since the smaller Clubs were unable to host 16 or 24 teams the bonspiel is rotated between the Gravenhurst, Bracebridge, Huntsville, and Parry Sound Clubs.
  • In 1971 the name was changed to Muskoka, Parry Sound Ladies Bonspiel.
  • In 1974 invitations were sent out to Burk's Falls, Mactier, and Baysville to join our bonspiel. Sundridge and Burks Falls participated until 1999.
  • The 40th Anniversary Bonspiel was held in Gravenhurst in 1993 and a number of the original curlers attended.
  • In 2003 the 50th Anniversary Bonspiel was held in Bracebridge and 5 ladies who originally curled in 1953 attended the Dinner.
  • The 56th Bonspiel will be hosted in Gravenhurst on February 2nd & 3rd (tentative date) of  2009.
