Open Letter to the Members

Dear Curlers,

I would like to welcome all the new curlers, returning curlers and social members back for a new exciting year of curling and social functions.

We have had a busy summer with the Annual Summer Bonspiel and the Mayor‘s Golf Tournament. To all that helped make this a successful summer, thank you. We are a club of volunteers, so we need you all to help when you can in some manner throughout the year.

If we all contribute a little time, we can make the Gravenhurst Curling Club a success.

The New Board of Directors are busy getting everything ready for the season. Seth Vogan has committed to stay and provide us with the BEST ICE in Central Ontario.

We are striving to eliminate the very large debt we have with the bank, improve the facilities, such as electrical, kitchen, ventilation and overall decor of the club. As we are all aware, the Provincial Government has hit all of us with the HST, it also impacted everything especially here at the curling club.

We had no choice but to pass on these increases thru membership fees. Due to the fact we are reviewing the complete shareholder structure, we have eliminated the shareholder discount. All shareholders should have received discounts equal to or more than you paid for your shares.

We have restructured the different rates for curling, which reflects the HST and increase in operating costs. We are still the BEST DEAL in Town for Sports and as a Social Club.

I look forward to seeing you all at the Registrations on October 5th and 7th (Tues/Thur) from 7:00pm til 9:00pm.
